China has a long history of un-righteous and un-harmonious rule over people who have struggled to be free. China's people are too insecure to accept criticism or to be self critical in the way the people of most western countries can. When Americans hear others criticize America's wicked leaders, they often understand and agree. When Chinese hear others criticize their wicked leaders, they express rage and hostility to the speaker.

Tibetans are subject to arbitrary arrest and detentionTorture still prevails in Chinese prisons and detention centresEnforced disappearances, where a person is taken into custody and the details of their detention are not disclosed, continue to occur. The 11-year-old 11th Panchen Lama has been missing since his status was announced in 1995.Today, it appears the Chinese are using Tibet as a dumping ground for their, and foreign, nuclear waste.tibet(.)net(Central Tibetan Administration)

The comment about being subhuman, and 'doggie'....what a joke. It's true what they say about jealousy, so thank you williamdesojealous for proving this true. These people are beautiful! You can see their kindness, it radiates through their eyes and being. Kids, the word for today and into the future is: Compassion. Namaste'....

Yes, life is full of ups and downs, especially when you're hanging from a wire in Drapchi prison. The concept of "allowing" protest or disallowing it, is foreign to all people who live in a democracy. Betrayal is subjective, especially if you are constantly betrayed by those claiming to be your brother. But one day Tibet will become Tibet again, it's just a matter of time.

It's a shame that when things go well, people join in for hundreds of years. When things don't ,(live is full of ups and downs as we all know), some will split and betray others. Should this be allowed? morally not.

Right. And those hundreds of thousands of Tibetans killed or starved to death (from the non Chinese invasion in 1906 and then another non invasion in 1949, and another non invasion in 1959) didn't really exist. For social stability? And were the German concentration camps were put up to ensure social stability? Did the cultural revolution succeed in social stability? How many people have to die or be tortured in order to achieve social stability? A free China equals a free Tibet.

There is no Chinese invasion, there are only operations required for social stability.

Ever since China invaded Tibet in 1949 the Tibetans have been refugees. In their own country, and now outside of it. It's surprising they don't resist the Chinese invasion on more levels, but it's part of their character to be compassionate - even for those who've invaded their land, taken their resources. One day the shoe will be on the other foot. We might not see it, but one day it will. |
