boo booo white stripes...lets think outside the circle a little like Jolie holand and RL Burnside.. they are inspirational... saw jolie holand in the most intimate gig you could imagine at Manchester Lane in Oz... Love the National... heard their music in a dark dingy black bar in London.. they are more than UK music... sort of reminds me of the canadian masterpeice lovely Do Make Say Think. Instrumental can be so much more moving than lyrics sometimes....

ahahah completely agree. not to mention the Ramones, Spoon, The White Stripes, and countless other influential and excellent bands that have come from the US in the past 4 decades.

are you kidding me?yes more bands that are "relevant" since the pixies have been british, but we have some pretty dam good ones including: modest mouse and tv on the radio to name a couplebut truthfully, we have the best "indie" bands on this side of the ocean...plus we gave you the talking heads, who are great enough to make up for every single bad band since, seeing as 90% of the new bands are talking head rip-offs....
